Cortland, NY -- The nephew of a man shot and killed in November while hunting in Cortland County was charged last week in his uncle’s death, according to the state Department of Environmental Conservation.
Robert A. Ross, 43, of 5288 Maybury Road, McGraw, was charged with manslaughter and criminally negligent homicide in the death of Alton A. Carr, 54.
Carr and Ross were hunting Nov. 20 in the town of Solon when Carr was shot, DEC Capt. Woody Erickson said. The shooting occurred on land Ross owns called Maybury Stables.
Carr, of 4676 Maybury Road, was sitting in a ground hunting blind during a deer hunting outing with his nephew when he was shot once in the chest, Erickson said. Carr was taken by helicopter to Upstate University Hospital, where he died in surgery.
Ross was arrested Nov. 20 and arraigned in Cortland County Court. He was released on his own recognizance.

Outdoor LED Display
An outdoor LED display assembly includes a receiving member and an LED display mounted on the receiving member.
