Using GU10 LED Bulbs

LEDs are light producing diodes used in most lighting appliances where a lot of energy savings is enviable. They are moisture resistance and shockproof due to their resin coating. This current technology does not overheat as well as consumes only a small part of electricity compared to other filaments that depends on recurrent relay of electrical currents to continue lighting. The newest replacement for these halogen equipments is the GU10 LED bulb. One can substitute this unit for compact fluorescents or minimal energy efficient halogens by plugging it to the fixtures.

Using GU10 LED Bulbs, these types of bulbs are not ideal if you want to use dimming within your lighting system as it is not easily achieved without extra electronics. There has been great debate about whether LEDs are actually bright enough for general use. They usually have a short warm-up period in which they become brighter but some people have argued that even after the warm-up period they do not reach the same level of brightness as conventional bulbs. This debate continues on with manufacturers claiming that the brightness is equal to that of standard light bulbs; at the same time there are multiple research projects that claim that the brightness of energy-saving bulbs does not meet acceptable standards. It is down to the individual to experiment with energy-saving bulbs in a bid to find out whether they suit their household needs or not.

LED light bulbs have been specially designed so that they can easily replace the standard halogen bulbs but there are some fundamental differences in the sort of light that they produce. For example, a LED produces a more concentrated beam of light that will travel a long way whereas, a halogen bulb tends to produce a more widespread and uniform ray of light. This means that GU10 LED bulbs are ideal when used in focused lighting but so not so useful if you are looking for general purpose lighting. It is worth considering just how much you need a wide beam of light in a certain place in your home and if you can deal with a more concentrated light then you should make the switch, both for the sake of the environment and your pocket.
