How To Recycle Energy Efficient Light Bulbs
Compact fluorescent lamps (CFLs) are becoming commonplace in residential and commercial lighting. They use around 75 percent less energy and last about 10 times as long as standard incandescent light bulbs. The U.S. Department of Energy estimates that if every home in the U.S. replaced one incandescent light bulb with a CFL, the energy savings would be enough to power three million homes for a year.
Replacing incandescent light bulbs with eco-friendly compact fluorescent lamps (CFLs) or light-emitting diodes (LEDs) is beneficial to the earth, as well as your bank account. Energy-efficient light bulbs last up to 10 times longer than their incandescent competitors and use 75 percent less energy, according to energy. When making the switch, instead of tossing old incandescent light bulbs in the trash, consider recycling them in unique ways.
Keep CFLs separate from both regular household waste and other recycling materials. Because they contain mercury (albeit a tiny amount, barely enough to cover the tip of a ballpoint pen), CFLs cannot be disposed of the same way as other materials.
Store the CFLs in a way that will keep them from breaking, such as in a small box or plastic bag. Most lamp recyclers will not accept broken bulbs because the mercury and phosphors have already been released at that point

Archive for the ‘Machine Embroidery’ Category
I think I understand profit margins. A business has an obligation to make a profit in order to stay in business and continue to serve its customers. But that means a fair profit, not one that takes advantage of customers. Very recently we were near victims of what I consider to be an obscene profit on a small, but important part of our primary embroidery machine.
We do all of our test stitch outs at Windstar Embroidery Designs on a Brother PR-600, purchased new from our local Brother dealer almost four years ago. The machine gets a lot of use and we determined that a new bobbin case was needed.
I called our Brother dealer and asked how long it would take to get the part and the price. I was told it usually takes about two weeks and my price would be $24.95 picked up at the store.
Even though the part is critical to the operation of the machine, that price just seemed pretty high to us.
As much as we try to support our area businesses it was time to get on the Internet to see if we could save a few dollars.
A quick search took me to AllStitch LLC in Baltimore. They sell a complete line of discount machine embroidery supplies for commercial and home embroiderers. You do not have to have a business license to purchase so it’s a great place for the hobbyist too.
The AllStitch price for the bobbin case? $4.99. Shipping to our part of Illinois is $8.23 for a total of $13.22. My savings is a substantial $11.73 and the part is delivered to my door.
But I didn’t order right away. I called our Brother dealer and asked them to check the price on that little bobbin case and to verify that we were talking apples and apples.
“Yep,” I was told after I described the part in detail, “that’s the part you need and the price is $24.95.”
“And that is for one bobbin case, right?” I asked.
“That’s right. Want us to order it for you today? You’ll have it two weeks!”
I said no, thank you and left it at that.
I think I understand the difference between fair and unfair profit margins. That’s why I ordered the part from AllStitch. And a few other supplies too while I was at it.

Reflective Sheeting
Reflective Sheeting is a versatile new type of optical materials. It is based on thin lens imaging principle, uniform layer of glass beads embedded in the optical organic resin as the original, multi-layered resin film made. Reflective signs with their production according to the original road can retro-reflective of incident light, the reflective brightness of the paint marks than tens to hundreds of times brighter. Our products are widely used in highway, railway, port and shipping, airports, mining, fire, vehicle license, environmental protection, advertising and other fields make reflective signs. The use of the product, can make a person a few hundred meters away at night to see the signs, to a large extent, increased awareness of the signs of recognition at night, to enhance safety awareness and advocacy role. The product is the recent advent of high-tech products, then widely used, this product is produced everywhere signs reflective signs, has been the production and living with people closely related to the application of the product is the progress of human civilization and a sign.
Reflective Sheeting is the use of optics, light can reach all parts of the lamp antagonistic structure of a special mask. By the weathering of the surface of the cortex, layer of glass beads, focusing layer, reflective layer, glue layer and the bottom paper layer.
1. Product Category: Diamond generally divided by grade, high strength level, project level (plate level) and economic level.
2. The quality of identification points: dough material, reflection coefficient of glass beads, color uniformity, durability, adhesive glue, and so on.
3. Storage: should be kept at a temperature 15 – 30 ℃, humidity of 30-60% ventilated place. And avoid direct sunlight, stacked are forbidden to cross, put legislation to avoid direct contact with the ground.
4. Usage: road and railway-oriented cards, signs, billboards, outdoor media, silk screen printing screen, mine airport security card, stage scenery and trademarks.

History of Reflective Material
In 1950, Chinese-American scientist Dr। Dong Qifang developed directional glass beads, and subsequently developed a series of reflective material such as reflective fabric, 1968, the United States ROWLAND brothers invented and registered micro-prism retro-reflective techniques. Reflective sheeting products 3M has pioneered the development by the United States successfully, to present only the United States, Japan, China, South Korea, a few countries able to produce. The tape has been developed long-term use, its excellent optical properties and superior socio-economic value has been widely recognized and accepted.
However, another type of reflective material that is micro-prism reflective material in China is still just the initial stage until the beginning of the twenty-first century, a few do by the Fujian Jinjiang shoe cock in the enterprise developed the micro-prism lattice in the civilian products reflective film, after several years of evolution although the quality of the product improved, but remain the most primitive mode of production batch production, the world’s production of such products, manufacturers are basically continuous implementation production. Another is the core technology research and development on the original mold is basically blank. Although there has been little development of core technology progress, but by the element, and several other manufacturers Sony has introduced a new form of products – reflective inkjet fabric, inkjet fabric reflective introduction of the reflective material has developed a new market - - the advertising market.

Sunglasses
Sunglasses, also known as sun mirror, for shading purposes. Who rely on regulation in the sun often pupil size to adjust the luminous flux, when the light intensity of more than ability to regulate the human eye, it will harm to the human eye. Therefore, in outdoor venues, particularly in the summer, many people are using to block the sun visor mirror, the eyes adjust to reduce glare caused by fatigue or injury caused by stimulation.

Yue Embroidery
Also called Guang embroidery, Yue embroidery is a general name for embroidery products in the regions of Guangzhou, Shantou, Zhongshan, and Fanyu Shunde in Guangdong province. According to historical records, in the first year of the reign of Yongyuan (805) during the Tang Dynasty (618-907), a girl named Lu Meiniang embroidered the seventh volume of Fahua Buddhist Scripture on a piece of fine silk 30 cm long. And so, the Yue embroidery became famous around the country.
Yue Embroidery is best known for its ingenious design that incorporates symbols of auspiciousness and good wishes on pieces of embroidery, which is based on the merits of various art forms like painting and traditional paper cutting, embroidery etc. Yue works collected in the Palace Museum are more represented in the greatest number. There are two schools of Yue Emberoidery are "Chao Embroidery" and "Guang Embroidery." In 2006, "Guang Embroidery" was included in the Representative List of national intangible heritage and have an element of protection of traditional folk culture heritage of the province of Guangdong.
The style of Yue embroidery are rich and vibrant, and includes many different colors and patterns. It is one of the most eclectic styles, and yet they are works produced intricate and incredibly detailed. While older pieces are prized by collectors, Yue modern pieces add color and interest to any home. Yue embroidery has been used in many different ways, in pieces ranging from wedding gowns to rugs.
Although Yue embroidery is smooth, Yue craftsmen sometimes use gold and silver thread to create a three dimensional impression in their designs. As Yue embroidery has been developed, often took stylistic elements of other styles of Chinese embroidery. Yue embroidery can also be sub-classified in the Guang and Chao styles. The two styles are considered part of Yue embroidery "family" and have their own different stitching techniques.

HDTV Digital Cable
HDTV Digital IDE cables exist or Serial Digital Interface। However, this cable is strong yet commercially available. On the market are the DVI (Digital Visual Interface) and HDMI (High-Definition Multimedia Interface).
two-way connection between computers and monitors is possible through dual-channel versions of DVI. These connections carry video only. Audio must be carried by other cable HDTV.
HDMI carries uncompressed digital audio between devices such as an STB and a display. Small connectors are used with HDMI. The cable HDTV HDMI also enables bi-directional interface. HDMI uses a 19 pin connector to link one or more 29-pin connector to the double bond.
Cable for connecting DVI and HDMI devices are also available.
DVI and HDMI are characterized by very short lengths of cable because it is designed to accommodate a copy-protection system. HDTV Digital cable uses twisted pair cable coaxial cables used analog HDTV cables. DVI and HDMI work smoothly over short distances, but some low-quality cables fail more than ten feet.
There is virtually no digital HDTV cable works beyond fifteen meters. DVI cable preformed up to 10 feet long are available. Longer lengths require special materials and are expensive. Although interconnections produce high quality digital video and audio, running long distances is the limitation of digital HDTV cables.
